A former mainstay in the engine room of Leeds United's midfield, Lee Bowyer will take on his former side as a manager for the first time when the Whites take on Charlton Athletic.
Bowyer played the best football of his career at Elland Road, and in his short time managing in South London he has impressed, gaining promotion from League One via a play-off final win over Sunderland.
The good form has continued in the second tier, with The Addicks adapting well to the Championship and managing to stay in the upper reaches of the table in the opening weeks.
The visit of a Leeds United side with four away wins from four is a different kettle of fish though, and Bowyer wasted no time in showering praise over Marcelo Bielsa's table-toppers in his pre-match programme notes.
He said: "Leeds is, obviously, a club where I spent a large part of my career and the time I spent there has a special part in my heart.
"I always felt that I had a good relationship with the Leeds fans. They were very good to me, I always gave 100 per cent for them and we have some great memories together so I will be sure to acknowledge them after the game today.
"But this is just another game for me and I will be concentrating on beating them and getting the win like I do every week.
"Today will be a massive challenge for us because, for me, they are the best team in the league.
"What Marcelo has done with that squad is unbelievable and I have the utmost respect for him and his staff because they are top of the league for a reason."
