LeBron welcomes Davis, says trade is ‘just the beginning’ for Lakers

LeBron James is understandably excited about the future now that his team has agreed to trade for superstar big man Anthony Davis.

The Lakers acquired Davis at a steep cost, including three first round picks and the ability to swap picks over the next few years. But none of that matters to LeBron James, who will head into next season with at least Davis and Kyle Kuzma, but likely more players as well depending on who the Lakers add in free agency.

So with that outlook, James is optimistic and James welcomed Davis to the Lakers before saying that it was only the beginning for them.

The Lakers were already the betting favorite to be the NBA champion in multiple sportsbooks before the trade officially went down. But adding Davis makes them a legit contender. Obviously, they will still have to fill out their roster and last summer’s failure doesn’t give the Lakers front office the benefit of the doubt. But Davis, James and Kuzma is one helluva start. It’s easy to see why James is so excited.
