LeBron James went back into the time machine on Friday night as he looked back on one of the most memorable moments of his basketball career, an epic Gold medal game against Spain in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, which was capped off with some clutch buckets by the late Kobe Bryant. LeBron showed a couple of highlights from himself and Dwyane Wade, but as he watched the game, his attention, as the game did back in 2008, went to Kobe.
Bryant hit several huge shots down the stretch of the game as Spain closed the gap to as close as two points before helping the United States pull away for their first Gold medal in men’s basketball since 2000.
Kobe had 20 points in the game, including 13 of them down the final stretch of the game, as well as a game-high six assists. It was a game that few who watched it would forget as a great Spain team pushed the best American team since the 1992 Dream Team to the brink. Dwyane Wade had a game-high 27 points, as well as four steals in the victory while LeBron James had 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
