LeBron shuts up haters after third straight triple-double with ‘Washed King’ tweet

I honestly don’t know if anyone thought LeBron James would come into 2019-20 and look washed up.

Even though he missed much of last season with an injury, he still put up his usual set of spectacular numbers when he did play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

But James is someone who knows the power of social media for a variety of purposes, including — possibly — motivating his own teammates (remember all those subtweets?). So if he believes there were critics out there who thought he was on the decline, or just wants people to believe that, it makes sense why he’d tweet something like this after notching his third straight triple-double in the Lakers’ sixth straight win:

One theory: it could be the most subtle of jabs at anyone who thinks Kawhi Leonard is the best player in the NBA, but there’s no way to figure that out.  Here’s how fans reacted — some of them thought it was about anyone who thinks Leonard is the new king — getting the term to trend on Twitter:
