LeBron shouts out Steph Curry and Warriors after eliminating Rockets

LeBron James appreciated the heart and effort of the Golden State Warriors during Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals in Houston. Despite the calf injury that sidelined Kevin Durant, the Warriors traveled to the Toyota Center on Friday night and eliminated the Rockets from the postseason with a 118-113 victory. Klay Thompson exploded in the first half with 21 points before finishing with 27 while Stephen Curry offered an all-time great second half performance.

After not scoring in the each of the first two quarters, Curry would total 33 points in the second half to lead his team in scoring on the night while earning the decisive win. He was extremely clutch down the stretch, demonstrating the utmost confidence in his ability after struggling to begin the game. The Warriors will now continue the march toward their third championship in three seasons when the face off with either the Denver Nuggets or Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals. As Game 6 concluded, LeBron applauded the heart and determination of Curry and his teammates.

From 2015-18, James and his Cleveland Cavaliers matched up with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals four-straight times. Curry and company got the better of Cleveland in three of those series with the Cavaliers winning in 2016. If anyone knows how difficult it is to get to the NBA Finals in what would now be five-consecutive years this season for Golden State, it’s LeBron. The King played on the NBA’s biggest stage eight-straight times from 2010-18 with the Cavs and Miami Heat.

While James and his Los Angeles Lakers are on the outside looking in this season, now it’s Curry and Thompson who have a chance to start approaching LeBron’s NBA Finals record. If Golden State advances to the NBA Finals this year, the Splash Brothers would only be three more trips away from LeBron’s mark. Even if Durant leaves this summer via free agency, never underestimate the heart and ability of Curry to keep this thing going in the Bay Area without KD. They did it in Game 6 against Houston and there’s no reason to think they couldn’t do it again.
