LeBron’s Liverpool reportedly ‘on the verge’ of apparel deal with Nike

Almost 10 years ago, LeBron James struck what would become a shrewd business deal that earned him a 2 percent stake in the Liverpool Football Club. And now, one of the businesses he owns may be joining forces with the business he endorses.

The 2019 Champions League winners are reportedly “on the verge” of securing a new apparel rights deal that could be the biggest in the English Premier league with sportswear giant Nike, according to Forbes.

Although James himself likely hasn’t had talks on the level needed to get such a partnership done, it does workout quite well for him that the soccer team he co-owns will finally be wearing a brand he can actually wear in public.

James has supported the club even more publicly over the last few years as they have reached the height of European soccer, reaching the Champions League final in consecutive seasons and winning it last year. Liverpool is currently in an apparel partnership with Boston-based New Balance.

So, I guess the next question for Liverpool-loyal LeBron James fans is will the Nike deal include some LeBron James No. 23 Liverpool jerseys?
