LeBron’s Lakers look for W in penultimate pre-All-Star game vs. 76ers

Things for the Los Angeles Lakers have been dramatic, emotional and raw over the past two weeks. But Sunday afternoon’s game against the new-look Philadelphia 76ers provides them with another opportunity to build some positive feelings heading into the break.

After Rajon Rondo saved the Lakers in Boston on Thursday, they take on a Sixers team after they added a fifth starter to their already strong group in Tobias Harris. The Sixers traded for Harris and Boban Marjanovic earlier this week, with Harris appearing to be a seamless fit as a smooth power forward with 3-point range.

While the Lakers are fortunate to have LeBron James probable for Sunday’s game, the Sixers suddenly look the part of a contender for the Eastern Conference title. However, the Lakers escaping with an upset road win the exact kind of win they need to get back in the playoff race.

If they hope to get that win, they’ll have to play a lot better than they did on Thursday in Boston.
