LeBron-produced two-part HBO doc on Muhammad Ali to premiere May 14

LeBron James’ first feature length HBO production is only a few months away. HBO announced on Friday that the coming two-part documentary ‘What’s My Name’ about Muhammad Ali will premiere on May 14.

James has produced similar pieces, such as the docu-series ‘Shut Up And Dribble,’ but this is his first such project for HBO under he and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment.

“Muhammad Ali transcended sports in a way the world had never seen before,” LeBron James said in a press release from HBO. “It’s an honor to have the opportunity to tell his incredible and important story for the coming generations. He showed us all the courage and conviction it takes to stand up for what you believe in. He changed forever what we expect a champion to be, and I’m grateful that SpringHill gets to be a part of continuing his legacy.”

The two-part documentary is directed by Antoine Fuqua.
