LeBron James was in the house for Frank Vogel’s introduction

It was very subtle, but in the world of LeBron James even the subtle things are worth taking note of. And that’s why his appearance at Monday morning’s introductory press conference for newly named Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel spoke volumes, even if he was far away from the microphone.

During Vogel’s nearly 30 minute press conference alongside Rob Pelinka, LeBron was off to the side and spotted by reporters in attendance. But after Vogel did more interviews with the gathered media, LeBron was spotted working on some layups after.

James has tried to show his support for the Lakers through social media posts that have sometimes looked forced. But on Monday he said a lot without saying anything at all, showing up to something that would normally be beneath a player of his stature.

If James is serious about turning things around in L.A., a lot of that is going to start with him. And even though it may be small, LeBron showing that he’s invested in the Lakers new coach should is a nice change in tune after how the day started with Magic Johnson.

Although it may not be across the board for the Lakers franchise, their fanscan take home a small victory knowing that Vogel and LeBron did their part on Monday.
