LeBron James throws down All-Time dunk on Russell Westbrook

It appears that the Lakers extended break between playoff series served LeBron James quite well in the first half of Friday night’s Game 1 against the Houston Rockets. The Lakers trailed early in the first half but they started to come back in the 2nd quarter, in which James threw down one of the greatest dunks of his NBA career against Houston’s Russell Westbrook.

After a defensive stop, the Lakers went in transition and Alex Caruso led the break. As Caruso took the ball up the floor in transition, he saw LeBron cutting through the middle of the floor and then Westbrook tried to take a charge but was moving and inside the restricted area as James violently threw down a dunk over him in a way reminiscent of his posterization of Jason Terry.

The still photo is also quite striking when LeBron is at the peak of his jump and Westbrook is unable to change anything with the drive. Westbrook and Harden last played against LeBron in the 2012 NBA Finals, but LeBron showed them even though it’s been 8 years, he’s still the top dog.
