President of the United States Donald Trump went out of his way to discuss what he sees as ‘disgraceful’ actions by the overwhelming majority players and coaches in the NBA, of kneeling for the national anthem. Players from every team have been kneeling during the national anthem for every game and the president decided to make a statement about it earlier on Wednesday. With this news coming to the surface earlier in the day, LeBron James was inevitably asked about the statement from the president, who he has clashed with over the years. James doesn’t believe it’s much of a loss to the basketball community if Trump doesn’t tune in.
James also said that the question made him laugh.
James obviously is not a fan of Donald Trump and LeBron has already shown support for presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. James is also part of a non-profit group, More Than A Vote, that is hoping to combat voter suppression and voter turnout in oppressed communities, including donating over $100k for former felons in Florida to earn back their right to vote.
