LeBron James has had a lot of different pre-game celebrations and rituals over the course of his days in the NBA. But on Thursday morning The King teased a return of one of his most iconic pre-game routines, but one that has been more or less dormant for the past four or five years: the chalk toss.
LeBron James responded to the twitter account Timeless Sports on Thursday morning, which shared a collection of photos with LeBron doing the toss. Then James suggested he would bring it back next season until forever.
The chalk toss used to be stuff of legend and was always a photo opportunity for fans in attendance to capture a signature James moment before he even takes the floor. But it’s been mostly on hold since he went back to Cleveland the second time around. He’s done it sparsely since then, but with the spotlight and high expectations back on he and the Lakers this season, he has a lot more reason to bring it back.
