LeBron James shut it down to push Lakers to 3-1 lead over Blazers

LeBron James delivered another massive performance and the rest of his teammates followed his lead in dominating the Portland Trail Blazers in Monday night’s Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 lead into Wednesday night’s Game 5 against the Blazers. LeBron James had 30 points and 10 assists while Anthony Davis had 18 points and five rebounds. In addition to the dynamic duo for the Lakers, Kyle Kuzma had 18 points off the bench.

The Lakers had their highest-scoring quarter of the bubble in the first quarter against the Blazers on Monday, with 43 points. The Lakers also got a rare night in which basically all of their perimeter shooters connected from the outside as they shot 43% from the 3-point line as a team.

While LeBron was excellent and Davis was amazing, the Lakers’ defense continued to present problems for the Blazers. Making matters even more complicated for Portland, Lillard’s status moving forward in the series remains unknown. Nevertheless, the Lakers are in the driver’s seat through four games, up 3-1, while their second-round opponents, Oklahoma City, and Houston, are headed to a Game 5 tied 2-2.
