LeBron James shows up to Duke-Virginia to see Zion Williamson

LeBron James is a huge basketball fan and his Los Angeles Lakers are on an Eastern Conference road trip, so he decided to head to Charlottesville, Virginia to watch Zion Williamson and the Duke Blue Devils against the No. 3 ranked Virginia Cavaliers.

Of course, with the fact that his friend and agent Rich Paul founded Klutch Sports, everyone started wondering out loud if James had other motives for making a trip to see Williamson and likely soon-to-be rookies Cam Reddish and R.J. Barrett.

So while James may not have accomplished the goal of acquiring Anthony Davis, he’s clearly focused on what’s next by trying to raise his team’s spirits and adding to his the off-court legacy while he’s still playing elite basketball.

James is also a well-known friend of Duke Mike Krzyzewski as Coach K coached LeBron for USA Basketball. Williamson is widely seen as a lock to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 draft.
