LeBron James shows support for suspended ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski

ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski has some pretty powerful support in the NBA community after getting into a little trouble with his bosses last week.

The network reportedly suspended Wojnarowski without pay for a profane two-word email he sent to the office of Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Missouri that the lawmaker later made public.

Hawley had written an open letter to NBA commissioner Adam Silver, calling for the league to allow messages in support of police, the military and Hong Kong protesters on player jerseys – in addition to the pre-approved messages in support of social justice issues.

On Sunday, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James offered his opinion by tweeting the hashtag #FreeWOJ, followed by a pair of fist emojis signaling his solidarity.

Wojnarowski has since apologized to Sen. Hawley and to his ESPN colleagues for his actions.

ESPN called his behavior “completely unacceptable” and said officials were discussing the matter internally. However, the New York Post reported that Wojnarowski had his trip this week to the NBA bubble in Orlando canceled.

Several players had previously tweeted support for Wojnarowski including Enes Kanter, Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley.
