LeBron James, like many around the country and all of Los Angeles, is in a state of grieving following the murder of rapper, businessman and philanthropist Nipsey Hussle on Sunday night.
James reflected on Instagram earlier this morning about his conversations with Hussle and reflecting on how he made LeBron proud.
Even later in the day, James admitted that he was unable to shake the heavy feelings that Hussle’s death has brought.
James was far from the only Laker to express his sadness. Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma said that Hussle was one of his idols.
Hussle has received an outpouring of support from fans of his music but Hussle’s death was even more hurtful one because of his work in the community, such as creating co-working spaces and a STEM-center for inner-city kids in South Los Angeles.
