LeBron James shares emotional journey watching ‘The Last Dance’ 7 & 8

This Sunday night’s two episodes of ESPN’s “The Last Dance” were likely the two most emotional of the documentary series, where Michael Jordan reflected on the time that he retired from the game of basketball and also the reputation that he was too difficult on his teammates. Like the rest of us who were watching, LeBron James reminisced on where he was at the time of all of these events that he remembers but didn’t quite understand at the time when he was just a kid. After counting down the time until the next episode, LeBron reflected on his confusion and tearful sadness at nine years old when Jordan first retired in 1993 to play baseball.

However, Jordan, of course, came back in the spring of 1995. During the documentary, they went over his iconic “Double Nickel” game at Madison Square Garden, where he scored 55 points in a win over the Knicks.

Also, James doesn’t care about the 1995 loss of Jordan and the Bulls to the Orlando Magic in his first few months back because Jordan went from No. 45 to No. 23 after Orlando’s Nick Anderson said “No. 23” isn’t here anymore following a Game 1 win by the Magic. Jordan had 38 points, seven rebounds, four blocks, four steals, and three assists in the next game, which LeBron came away talking about more than the series result.

Just as he has been for the last few Sundays, LeBron was a fan just like us. And we will all get to be an NBA fan again next Sunday when the final two episodes air.
