LeBron James says Wilt Chamberlain could dominate in ‘any era’

When it comes to the history of basketball, LeBron James is a student of the game of the highest order. So when he speaks on players who paved the way for people like him or players in the modern game, it’s worth listening to him since his basketball IQ is arguably the greatest that’s ever existed.

On Wednesday, James decided to take his opinions way back on the occasion of the late Wilt Chamberlain’s birthday. James stated that Wilt’s size, skill and athleticism would have made him “dominant” in “any era.”

If you look at the highlights of Chamberlain, his athleticism jumps off the screen in comparison to the players around. Add that to the fact that he was nearly 7-feet tall, then it makes a lot of sense that he would probably have figured out a way to dominate in the modern game. Chamberlain was also someone who had to be distracted by statistical challenges because the game was so easy for him, such as the season he tried to lead the NBA in assists by averaging 8.4 per game in the 1967-68 season.
