LeBron James says Luke Walton’s voice has been one of few constants

You probably know by now that things for the Los Angeles Lakers are looking grim. And you also likely know that things are looking even darker for head coach Luke Walton, who many expect to absorb the brunt of the damage done by not making the postseason.

But there’s still a job to do and 18 games left, starting with tonight’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets. But that also goes for the many members of the media who are still covering the Lakers, although they’ve probably gotten used to missing the postseason. Anyway, James was asked about the job of Luke Walton amidst a chaotic season. James acknowledged that Walton has definitely been trying to lead the Lakers, despite the disappointing season.

Yes, Luke Walton has certainly been there throughout the season. And he’s usually drawn the ire of Lakers fans for the choices in his rotation, rather it be too many lineups without LeBron James or Brandon Ingram on the court or trusting in veterans such as Rajon Rondo and Lance Stephenson, they’ve had quite a bit of issues with him.

However, it’s also worth noting that Walton could only play the cards he was dealt. Yes, the Lakers came into the season with promising prospects and the best player in the world. But everything else on the roster put Walton in a position to fail.
