LeBron James says he ‘likes the mindset’ of Lakers on Wednesday

The Los Angeles Lakers are facing a must-win situation every single night for the rest of the season as they stare down long odds to make the postseason for the first time since 2013. But at least heading into Wednesday’s game, LeBron James sounds more positive about his team’s outlook.

James spoke with reporters on Wednesday in Los Angeles prior to their game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the same team they were embarrassed by only five days ago. James says he “likes” where the team is mentally.

LeBron’s main point after the game in Memphis seemed to be about the importance of staying positive in face of adversity. Today, he said: “I like where we are as a team with our mindset, and hopefully moving forward.” Said he’s eager for the game (vs. New Orleans) tonight.

In terms of the final score, the outcome Monday night in Memphis was a better game but the Grizzlies are a worse team than the Pelicans. No matter how positive things feel this morning, nobody will believe the Lakers are any different until they handle their business between the lines.
