LeBron James says he intends to play Wednesday vs. Warriors

Although the reverberations of his comments on Daryl Morey and China continues to be felt from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, LeBron James will be back on the basketball court when the Los Angeles Lakers continue their preseason schedule on Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors.

While it got buried amid the flood of reaction to LeBron’s comments on China, James did tell reporters in Los Angeles prior to Monday’s Lakers-Warriors exhibition that he intends to play tomorrow in the penultimate preseason game.

LeBron played only 12 minutes during his last preseason appearance in Shenzhen, China, against the Brooklyn Nets. In his previous outing, LeBron had played 25 minutes, which has been the high-water mark for the his work load in the preseason.

Also, head coach Frank Vogel has shuffled the lineups around James and Anthony Davis in each game of the preseason so far. With the regular season now just a week away, Vogel’s lineup choices on Wednesday may reflect what they will ultimately be on opening night against the L.A. Clippers.
