LeBron James, Rondo and Josh Hart held out of practice Tuesday

The Los Angeles Lakers were light on bodies on Tuesday night after their summer without the playoffs became ever more likely with Monday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Lakers lost Kyle Kuzma to an ankle injury on Monday and were without LeBron James, Rajon Rondo and Josh Hart in Tuesday’s practice, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

Although LeBron James said he wouldn’t sit out games when he’s healthy, he did express an openness to have his minutes cut after last night’s loss if the Lakers continue to fall further in the playoff picture.

After last night’s loss to the Clippers, the Lakers are 5.5 games out of the 8th and final playoff spot with only 18 games left in the season. And the most optimistic playoff projection gives them a 1% chance of getting in.

With matchup on Wednesday against 2nd place Nuggets, they’re likely to take another step closer to the offseason.
