LeBron James reminisces on SportsCenter story on his high school days

LeBron James has already been seen giving his son Bronny Jr. pointers during his first games with his new school Sierra Canyon. Perhaps no high school in the country is facing the same expectations as Canyon after winning two CIF state championships before adding Bronny, Zaire Wade (son of Dwyane) and several other top college recruits.

But all of that pales in comparison to what it was like to experience the phenomenon of LeBron James in high school. Although his middle school games didn’t receive the same following as his son’s, coverage of him in high school was on the same level as most professional and college sports. Earlier on Wednesday, James found an old SportsCenter story about one of his high school games and reminisced on how far he has come since then.

James’ high school following is unlike anything before or since. From being on the cover of Sports Illustrated before he got to his senior season or having ESPN cover him like a professional team unto himself, it’s remarkable that as he approaches his 17th season, he’s still one of the most dominant players in the world.
