LeBron James racks up triple-double to help Lakers stop losing skid

LeBron James had 29 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to help the Lakers snap a five game losing streak against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night, 111-106.

The Lakers entered Sunday’s game with the league’s longest active losing streak. Their latest loss on Friday mathematically eliminated them from the playoffs but rather than pack it in against a team above them in the standings, they played one of their better games of the past few weeks.

James had his triple double and Kyle Kuzma tied LeBron for the team-high in scoring with 29 points. JaVale McGee followed up a career night for him a perfect night from the field going 8-for-8, to go with 17 points and 14 rebounds. LeBron also had one of his better games from the free-throw line, going 8-9 at the charity stripe with many of them coming in the final minute.

While Lakers fans looking at the standings and lottery odds may have been hoping for a loss, it’s hard to imagine a losing streak that extends through the end of the season ending well for anybody.

The Lakers are off until Tuesday when they welcome another lottery-bound foe in Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards.
