LeBron James passed former teammate Ray Allen in playoff 3-pointers

LeBron James already holds many of the All-Time records in the NBA Playoffs. Playing more minutes in playoff history than anyone will help you do that, but James is adding more records to his resume than you’d even assume he has. Never known as a shooter, LeBron James surpassed an elite shooter whom he knows quite well on the NBA’s All-Time playoff 3-point list.

With his lone made 3-pointer in Sunday’s win, James passed his former Miami Heat teammate Ray Allen to move into No. 2 on the NBA’s All-Time list. Golden State’s Stephen Curry is all alone at the top of the list.

As James himself noted, he probably won’t be ahead of Thompson for long. If the Warriors come back stronger next season in the way everyone expects them to, Thompson should catchup to LeBron after a full postseason. But James deserves recognition for making the 3-pointer not only a part of his game but a prolific weapon in his constant playoff greatness.
