It’s been a little over six months since the passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, and though it feels like it happened a lifetime ago, his death is still fresh in minds of many.
Speaking to reporters on Monday morning inside the NBA bubble in Orlando, LeBron James opened up about Bryant, who he considered a close friend.
“There’s not a day that doesn’t go by that I don’t think about him,” James said according to reporters.
In addition to sharing his thoughts on Bryant, James also talked about the legacy of civil rights activist and Congressman John Lewis, who died Friday at the age of 80.
“Not just the civil rights movement…but what he preached for, what he stands for every single day. I think that it just hit home. Not just in the areas he was in, but for Black America all over the world. Obviously, it was a sad day for all of us, hearing that news, about such a legend. When you do the things that you do while you’re living, your name will last forever, your legacy will live forever.”
