While things for the Los Angeles Lakers are as bad as they’ve been this season, considering the amount of games remaining and the task they have in front of them to make playoffs, LeBron James’ legacy is bigger than any of that.
That was the thesis of Lakers and NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who wrote about James in a cover story for Newsweek in which he said James is bigger than any debates over who is the GOAT. James took note of Kareem’s praise and shared how honored he was.
Other than being two of the greatest player of all time, Kareem and LeBron now share the kinship of being Lakers. However, those good feelings likely won’t do much for Lakers fans who have been starved of playoff basketball for the past five seasons.
