LeBron James was asked about almost everything during his extended media session at All-Star Weekend media day.
His comments today, however, carried a very different tone than a media day exactly one year ago in Los Angeles in which he was asked about comments from Fox News host Laura Ingraham that he “shut up and dribble.”
Since Ingraham’s inflammatory comments, James produced a three-part documentary for Showtime called Shut Up and Dribble that was just nominated for an NAACP Image award for best documentary.
James sarcastically thanked her while discussing reasons athletes, and people at-large, have identities outside of their occupations.
James has come out the other side of the controversy. Even though his team is struggling, it’s still pretty great to be LeBron James. And for that reason, it appears he will not be content to just take his money and keep quiet about things that matter to him.
