With the season winding down for one of his championship teammates, LeBron James reflected on how much he loves his old buddy Channing Frye of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Frye went off in an interview with The Athletic’s Joe Vardon on just about everything over the course of his career, even how he says that he helped LeBron James solve his jump-shooting. But Frye’s wide-ranging interview also included a challenge to folks who don’t think he’s that good, asking future pick up games to meet him at L.A. Fitness.
Frye’s affable nature and sense of humor has been referenced by several who covered the 2016 Cavaliers as an important moment in the team’s growth. Although the Cavs traded Frye last season at the trade deadline, it’s clear that the strong feelings created by the 2016 championship still resonate today.
