The Los Angeles Lakers concluded their season on Thursday and they now know they will begin the postseason with a Game 1 on Tuesday against the winner of this weekend’s Western Conference Play-In. And with the regular season finally behind the Lakers, we can officially say that LeBron James did two this season that he’s never done before in his career: leading the NBA in assists and averaging double-digit assists per game in a season.
With the Lakers regular season over, LeBron James officially averaged 10.2 assists in 67 games of action. The Lakers season, due to the pandemic, reached only 71 games, which should not lessen the milestone for James. He did this even though the Lakers offense struggled to score during their final seeding games.
Now, the regular season is behind them and the Lakers will need to do their part to help LeBron once they get to the postseason. They will be heavy favorites against whoever they play, but one would think they’d have to play better when the playoffs begin than they did in the seeding games.
