LeBron James officially hands over Lakers No. 23 to Anthony Davis

Although the Los Angeles Lakers missed out on becoming perhaps the most feared superteam of All-Time when Kawhi Leonard decided to join up with Paul George on the Los Angeles Clippers, they still may have the most fearsome offensive duo in the league today. And in a show of gratitude for coming to the Lakers, LeBron James has officially handed over his No. 23 Lakers jersey to his new pick-and-roll partner Anthony Davis.

James shared a photo of the official jersey handover to celebrate Davis officially becoming a member of the Lakers.

It is quite hilarious that LeBron himself did the official introduction of Davis to the Lakers, but it is quite appropriate as well. Had Davis not changed his representation less than a year ago to Klutch Sports and Rich Paul, Davis probably never makes it to the Lakers.

Kawhi or no Kawhi, the Lakers still have the league’s best pick-and-roll combination. Combined with the emphasis on 3-point shooting in their free agent signings, that will give the Lakers plenty of hope heading into next season.
