LeBron James mocks Kyle Rittenhouse sobbing at homicide trial: ‘What tears?’

LeBron James was skeptical after Kyle Rittenhouse appeared to break down during his homicide trial.

Rittenhouse, 18, seemed to begin sobbing uncontrollably after taking the stand Wednesday, prompting the judge to call a recess.

“What tears????? I didn’t see one,” James, 36, tweeted Wednesday night. “Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court.”

The Los Angeles Lakers star’s post, which has been retweeted more than 33,000 times, also included three laughing emojis.

Rittenhouse claims he acted in self-defense when he shot and killed two men and wounded a third after bringing an AR-15-style semi-automatic gun to a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Aug. 25, 2020.

That protest took place two days after Jacob Blake, a Black man, was shot seven times by a white police officer, partially paralyzing him.

Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time, claims he attended the protest to protect local businesses amid the unrest.

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” Rittenhouse said Wednesday. “I defended myself.”

The six charges against Rittenhouse include intentional homicide and reckless homicide.
