LeBron James’ message to Liverpool after Champions League victory

LeBron James became a part owner of Liverpool Football Club back in 2011, and he was watching intently on Saturday as his team faced Premier League rival Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid.

Liverpool earned a penalty kick inside of 30 seconds on a controversial call that will debated all summer long, but superstar Mohamed Salah converted from the spot to give James’ club an early 1-0 lead.

Both teams struggled to generate many scoring chances over the next hour, but Tottenham started to put Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson under pressure in the final third of the game.

Divock Origi sealed the win for Liverpool in the 87th minute, finishing from inside of the penalty area when the ball fell to him off a corner kick.

Liverpool held on to win 2-0 and claim the club’s sixth European Cup. James congratulated everyone affiliated with the team after the final whistle was blown.
