LeBron James (load management) officially ruled out for Friday at Pistons

What’s been widely speculated is actually happening as Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James is sitting in the second night of a back-to-back in Friday night’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons.

James played 32 minutes in last night’s 111-98 loss to the Toronto Raptors and led all scorers in the game with 29 points. While it’s likely the smartest thing for the Lakers to do long-term, James expressed that it has been a little difficult to wrap his head around.

From Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group

“I trust the people in charge,” he said while picking at his nails, “and that’s what it is.

James is in a position he hasn’t been in since his second season in the league, playing effectively meaningless games in the run-up to the postseason. But it always appeared that the Lakers had a two-year plan to add superstars and he’s showing belief in the team he signed up with.
