LeBron James leaves fans in awe with stunning dunk off backboard in NBA All-Star Game

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James pulled off one of the more impressive dunks NBA fans have seen in a game during the all-star weekend.

Playing in his 19th all-star game in his 20th season, James remains at the top of his game on any given night and is still able of incredible moments as he reminded the basketball world on Sunday night. James was named the all-star captain for the sixth straight season, as he selected his team filled with the 24 best players in the league, with James losing for the first time to opposition captain Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In a game where limited defence is usually played, as the stars look to show off their skills to those watching, one play in particular from 'The King' made had fans off their seats.

James received the ball from former teammate Kyrie Irving at the three point line before throwing the ball off the backboard, catching it with one hand and dunking with two.

It's a rare sight to see for a player to be pulling off such an athletic play at the age of 38, but something that James has been able to sustain into his latter years at the age of 38.

James put in an incredible performance on the night before coming out with a hand injury, but it was Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum who stole the show after scoring an NBA all-star record 55 points and being named MVP.

Earlier this month, James became the NBA's all-time leading scorer, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who had held the record for almost 40 years. Abdul-Jabbar was in attendance that night, when James hit a fadeaway jumpshot to become the leader as the game was then paused and he was presented the title by commissioner Adam Silver and the former record holder.

While James has much to be proud of personally in recent weeks, it's been a frustrating few years for him, losing in the first round of the playoffs in 2021 before missing out on a spot in 2022 with the Lakers struggling.

And this season does not look to be going better, currently outside of the playoff spots, however the team has shown improvements since making a number of trades on the deadline last week.

James had hoped that the Lakers would be able to bring in wantaway superstar Irving, but were unable to pull off a trade as he joined the Dallas Mavericks alongside fellow all-star starter Luka Doncic.
