The Los Angeles Lakers, despite being 10th in the Western Conference, have been the talk of the league for over the past two weeks thanks to their attempted hostile extraction of Anthony Davis from New Orleans.
And as it happens when you’re in the news, sometimes you get satirized in the Onion. The Onion, the long-time satirist publication, had some hilarious fake quotes to poke fun at the situation, such as this fake quote from not LeBron James.
“I’m really trying to stay positive, and I think the fact that I openly tried and failed to push multiple players off this team for Anthony Davis will only make us stronger.”
The past few weeks have seen them endure team turmoil, trade rumors and bad blowout losses throughout their six-game road trip. The good news for the Lakers is that after they play the Hawks tonight, the games and the jokes will stop for a little while over the All-Star break.
