LeBron James is now recruiting players with Instagram likes

LeBron James is 34 years old and will be entering his 17th NBA season this fall, and after an abysmal 37-win season, the Lakers are entering a pivotal offseason following a minor organizational meltdown highlighted by Magic Johnson’s abrupt exit and a messy coaching search.

James needs the Lakers to land another superstar in order to contend, and he’s done his part to try and recruit players to Los Angeles over the course of his first season on the West Coast. The four-time MVP has now taken his efforts to Instagram, where James seemed to indicate he’d be in favor of a reunion with former Cavaliers teammate Kyrie Irving.

Despite pledging to re-sign with the Celtics last December, Irving has since made it clear he intends to opt out of his contract and test free agency this summer.

Irving may have opened the door to a potential move to the Lakers earlier this year, when he revealed that he called James to apologize for the way he handled his role as a No. 2 option alongside LeBron.
