LeBron James is MVP finalist, Anthony Davis finalist for DPOY

The Los Angeles Lakers are well-represented among the finalists for the NBA’s awards for the 2019-20 season. LeBron James is one of three finalists for the NBA MVP Award, along with the last two NBA MVP’s, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Houston’s James Harden. After a year in which he did not finish in the top-five in MVP voting, LeBron is back in the top three for the first time since 2018.

Joining LeBron as an awards finalist is, of course, his co-star Anthony Davis. Davis is one of three finalists for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year award, along with Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and reining DPOY Rudy Gobert, whom Davis scored 40 on earlier this week.

The Los Angeles Lakers are well represented in the awards voting and former Lakers forward Brandon Ingram is also in the top three for the NBA’s Most Improved Player award. The Lakers are back on the floor later today when they take on the Indiana Pacers.
