The Memorial Day weekend is upon us and LeBron James is taking the long weekend as an opportunity to intensify his recruiting efforts to bring top free agents to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Fans in L.A. have been mobbing Kyrie Irving outside area restaurants and hollering at him to join the Lakers. However, someone in LeBron’s orbit is also sending signals that LeBron wants to join forces with Irving in Los Angeles. LeBron’s friend, who goes by Cuffs The Legend on social media, shared a photoshop of Kyrie in a Lakers jersey. The post was ‘liked’ almost immediately by LeBron himself, as well as their former Cavs teammate Tristan Thompson.
While the Lakers didn’t bring in former Cavaliers head coach Ty Lue, eventually landing on Frank Vogel, next season’s Lakers team could have a decidedly Cleveland feel to it with Irving and LeBron back together. And James is doing his part to make sure he brings in another piece of home, hopefully one that can get him back playing at the highest level.
