LeBron James in full point guard mode dishing 8 1st half assists

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were in an unexpectedly tough game against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night but LeBron James looked very comfortable running the show offensively as the team’s point guard after not having an easy go in the first two games of the season.

LeBron looked as comfortable as ever in the first half of Sunday’s game, dishing eight assists in the first half to compliment 25 points from Anthony Davis. LeBron only scored four points, but the eight assists were key to the Lakers holding onto a 63-62 halftime lead. LeBron also found Dwight Howard, who had eight points and six rebounds in the first half off the bench.

LeBron and the Lakers will certainly need to lock-in more defensively if they are going to hold onto this game but the offense has looked pretty solid in the first half. With Rajon Rondo once again dealing with his sore calf and Alex Caruso a conspicuous first half scratch after being a key in Friday’s win, it looks like LeBron will have plenty of opportunities to reach a new season high in assists.
