In Friday night’s Game 2 victory for the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James and Anthony Davis added yet another chapter in what has been a beautiful postseason run by combining for 65 points in a win to put the Lakers up 2-0 over the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. James now has a 2-0 lead in the Finals for the first time in his career, but he had 33 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for the fifth time in his career, something nobody else has done more than twice in Finals history.

In addition to the volume of James’ accomplishments, James was locked in on a level we’ve rarely seen in the history of the NBA Finals as he didn’t commit a turnover on the night despite controlling a great deal of the action for the Lakers on the offensive end.
LeBron James used 37 possessions where he either shot it, drew free throws or got an assist, all without a single turnover. The only players to use more possessions without a turnover in a Finals game are MJ (2x), Magic and Shaq, per @Sportradar.

The Lakers picked apart the Miami zone on Friday night and James was a huge reason why at all three levels of the zone. He’s playing at arguably a higher level than we’ve ever seen from him and he’s doing it at the age of 35. With only two wins between him and a 4th championship, it would be wise to watch him and Davis work before the end of this spectacular run.
