LeBron James (groin) says he will play Tuesday vs. Nets

Although the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James will be quiet about it, it’s clear that they now have a legitimate shot at owning the league’s best record at season’s end and homecourt advantage throughout the entire NBA playoffs. Trailing the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks by only one game in the loss column, the Lakers spring to the end could give them the best record and as they hope to make up ground, they will be at full strength on Tuesday night.

LeBron James, who was considered questionable for Tuesday night’s game after a spectacular performance this weekend, will play tonight against the Brooklyn Nets, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

The Lakers welcome a Brooklyn Nets squad that is fighting for their playoff lives less than 72 hours after they parted ways with head coach Kenny Atkinson, who had coached the Nets for nearly four seasons. And a familiar face in the LeBron Universe is apparently a frontrunner for the job, former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach and current Clippers assistant Ty Lue.
