LeBron James (groin) probable to play Friday against Brooklyn Nets

Despite all of the columns written suggesting it, it doesn’t look like the Los Angeles Lakers will shut down LeBron James for the remainder of the season. At least not on Friday night.

The Lakers announced on Thursday afternoon that they expect LeBron James to play on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets after sitting in Tuesday night’s game against the Bucks to rest his sore left groin.

James had 33 points to lead the Lakers in his last game, but he was ultimately undone by a brutal fourth quarter from the field and a final blocked jumper when the Lakers were down by 1 to the New York Knicks.

The Nets are a much stronger team than the the other New York team the Lakers lost two, so they’ll need as much as they can from LeBron and likely a little bit more to have a chance of pulling an upset on their home floor.
