As one of the final remaining members of the NBA old guard, LeBron James spent his Friday morning getting some work in with two of his peers in elder statesmanship: Carmelo Anthony and Oklahoma City guard Chris Paul.
James, as he usually does, shared the details of his path from wake-up to workout, but today’s message included Paul and Anthony. Paul already had been working out with James but Melo is a new guest in the weight room.
James played off the famous #HoodieMelo meme that was birthed a few summers ago when Anthony’s summer scoring binges were going viral. Unfortunately for Anthony, he is not with a team right now and, according to reports, the Lakers are an unlikely destination for him.
As for Paul, he and several draft picks were dealt recently by the Houston Rockets to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Russell Westbrook.
Although it was a dream for some time to get the Banana Boat crew together on a team, Dwyane Wade’s retirement, Anthony’s NBA exile and Paul’s big contract caused that ship to sail.
