LeBron James drove more engagement on twitter than any athlete in October

The existence of this very website is proof that people talk a lot about LeBron James. While there’s never one true metric that can put that into perspective, it’s fun when there are numbers to help paint a clearer picture of what we are seeing with regards to LeBron’s popularity. Thanks to some new numbers from Opendorse, nobody drove more engagement on Twitter than LeBron James.

James drove nearly five-times as much engagement as the next closest athlete on Twitter in October, followed by his Lakers teammate Kyle Kuzma and is very active on social media. With the Lakers winning the NBA Championship in October and James becoming a major booster for the L.A. Dodgers during their run to a World Series, it should be no shock that the two Lakers dominated the social media chatter. Following both of those was Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, who also spends a lot of time as a boxing commentator on Twitter.

It remains to be seen how much longer Kuzma will be with the Lakers, however, as he is eligible to sign an extension and is already once again the subject of trade rumors.
