LeBron James drops price on his waterfront estate in Florida

March 17--LeBron James can't seem to get out of Miami fast enough. Since leaving the Heat for the Cleveland Cavaliers he's 0-2 there. Now he's chopped $2 million off the asking price of his waterfront estate in Coconut Grove, Fla.

Reduced to $15 million, the walled compound encompasses nearly half an acre. In addition to the 12,178-square-foot contemporary mansion, there's a guesthouse, security quarters, a 4,500-square-foot entertainment space, an infinity-edge pool and dock space for up to two 60-foot yachts.

The three-story main house features an elevator, a home theater, six bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms. Glass walls open onto covered terraces.

While in Miami he made four consecutive trips to the NBA Finals, winning titles in 2012 and 2013. The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player opted for a return to Cleveland last year and signed a two-year, $42.1-million contract to return to the Cavaliers, where he previously held court from 2003 to 2010.

The 30-year-old paid $9 million for the property in late 2010, the year it was built.

Listing agent Tomi Rose of Opulence International Realty told the Miami Herald and Wall St. Journal that there have been several offers on the property but none have been satisfactory. The price drop, Rose said, is intended to move the property during the spring buying season.
