LeBron James drops not-so-subtle hint he would’ve gone to Ohio State for college

If LeBron James had gone to college, it most likely would’ve been Ohio State, and he reaffirmed that at the Lakers media day. This was brought up when he was asked about California’s newly acquired Fair Pay to Play Act.

This act will allow players to benefit from their likeness. Many think this may be the start of the end for the NCAA as colleges may soon be able to attract recruits because of promised sales.

For now, the act is only in California.

Could this drive the nation’s top recruits to the already star-studded state? It doesn’t matter to James who knows he would’ve been one of the few to reap benefits off his name.

However, the more pressing development here is that James’ notes that he’d likely be at Ohio State, just hours away from his childhood home in Akron, Ohio.

He mentions “if I would have went off to Ohio State” then just follows it up with big-time college. He also mentions how the Schottenstein Center, more commonly known as Value City Arena, would’ve been sold out.

James barely missed the 2005 CBA that would’ve forced him to attend one year of college or just wait until he was 19 to be drafted. James was the top pick of the 2003 NBA draft, one of the best in league history.
