LeBron James drained a near 40-footer to tie a scrimmage on Thursday

We are getting ever closer to the return of LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to the basketball court for an NBA game, even if it is preseason. But before we get to Saturday night’s affair between the Lakers and the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco, there are still a couple of practices for the Lake Show to get through. And on Thursday’s, LeBron produced a clutch highlight.

Thanks to LakerFilmRoom, we have footage of LeBron draining a near 40-foot jumpshot to tie up a scrimmage on Thursday.

LeBron has slowly added more range too his game over the last few seasons, taking 3-pointers from spots on the floor that are more synonymous with Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard and Trae Young. LeBron has also increasingly taken a higher percentage of his field goal attempts from 3-point range. Last season, LeBron averaged a career-high 3-point rate, with 29.9 percent of his field goal attempts coming as 3-pointers.
