LeBron James drafts Kevin Durant and other 2019 free agents for All-Star Game

LeBron James may have lost out on adding Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency, but he’s not giving up on trying to persuade soon-to-be free agents to join him in Los Angeles.

For the second straight year, LeBron James selected Kevin Durant with the first pick in the All-Star draft but James littered his roster with 2019 free agents. After drafting Durant, LeBron drafted Kyrie Irving, as well as Kawhi Leonard and Klay Thompson. All four can be free agents in the summer and would presumably be targets for the Lakers if they leave their current teams.

LeBron James even orchestrated a trade during the draft, swapping Russell Westbrook with Giannis for his mentee and fellow Klutch athlete Ben Simmons.

Team LeBron also has Damian Lillard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Karl-Anthony Towns, Bradley Beal and LeBron’s buddy Dwyane Wade.

Team Giannis will be headlined by Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Paul George, Joel Embiid and Kemba Walker. The reserves for Team Giannis are Khris Middleton, Nikola Jokic, Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin, Nikola Vucevic, D’Angelo Russell, Kyle Lowry and Dirk Nowitzki.
