LeBron James credits Lakers leadership for fighting through ‘bull narrative’

LeBron James believes the Los Angeles Lakers front office wasn’t dealt a fair hand when it came to their depiction in the media, but he credited them for fighting through what the star called a “bull” narrative in order to build a team that has championship expectations.

James was about his relationship with Rob Pelinka, who credited both James and Anthony Davis for helping him form the team’s roster for the 2019-20 season.

First of all, Rob and Kurt and Linda and Jeanie, everybody upstairs did a great job this summer. Acquiring AD, to bringing in the rest of the team, bringing back guys that was free agents last year back. They did a helluva job, handpicking the coaching staff as they did. Throughout all of it, throughout all the bull that was narrated for our franchise and going towards Rob and the beautiful people that we have upstairs, they just kept their blinders on and they focused on making this franchise as best as they can be. They did that and I think they exceeded it. I’m happy to be a Laker.”

There were several times this summer where nobody would have blamed LeBron for doubting in his front office. The debacle that was the team’s intended hire of Ty Lue was an embarrassing moment, however James has put that past him now that he finally has the type of superstar teammate he hasn’t had in a long time.
